General Labor / Machine Operator / Assembly / Molding Operator

 

Pontiac Coil, Inc. Clarkston, Michigan is currently seeking General Labor, Machine Operators, Assembly, and Molding Operators.  The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 months’ experience in the Manufacturing industry and be flexible with shift scheduling.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform any assembly-type functions, using hand or power tools.
  • Operate any equipment needed to perform job.
  • Perform related duties as needed by supervision.
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
  • Complete tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimum supervision.
  • Inspect manufactured components for conformance to specifications using gauging.

Requirements

  • Manufacturing Experience
  • Able to work at least 2 of the 3 shifts: 1st: 6am-2pm, 2nd: 2pm-10pm, 3rd: 10pm-6am
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed and uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to stand up to 10 hours per day. Ability to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and climb or balance.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Mold Technician–Plastic Injection Molding / Automotive

 

Pontiac Coil, Inc. Clarkston, Michigan is currently seeking an experienced Molding Technician. This position requires working in a fast-paced, high volume injection molding environment on the production floor. Responsibilities will include troubleshooting injection molding issues, identifying opportunities for improvement, monitoring and adjusting processes and automation equipment, mold sampling, visual inspections, starting up and troubleshooting automated and assembly equipment, and training others on machines.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks, participate in continuous improvement and problem solving on injection molding and auxiliary machinery.
  • Set molds, perform cold starts of injection molding machines and automation equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills and attendance record.
  • Troubleshoot injection molding issues, identify opportunities for improvement, monitor and adjust processes and automation equipment, mold sampling, visual inspections, starting up and troubleshooting automated and assembly equipment, and training others on machines.
  • Reporting any process changes and documentation of machinery difficulties and maintenance.
  • Evaluate tool designs to ensure process capabilities.
  • Recognize the various types of cosmetic and dimensional defects and modifies the molding process within allowable limits to eliminate these defects.
  • Willingness to work on any shift as needed.

 

Requirements

  • 5 years’ experience in molding and molding technician processing. Strongly prefer experience with various molding equipment (Vertical Rotary Engel 85-230 ton, Arburg 110-150 ton), hot runner systems in the automotive environment.
  • Understanding of troubleshoot processing issues and identify root causes.
  • Understand the established cosmetic and dimensional requirements for the part being produced.
