Manufacturing Engineer – Electro-Mechanical Device Manufacturing / Automtoive

 

Pontiac Coil, Inc. Clarkston, Michigan is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who will contribute to new manufacturing technology projects, participate with continuous improvement teams and be a launch team member for the launch of new projects.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct process development related to new product launch.
  • Work with machine tooling vendors / assembly equipment integrators regarding equipment qualification and capability studies
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities for existing manufacturing processes.
  • Actively participate and in APQP cross functional launch team meetings.
  • Provide support to functional areas including Engineering, Program Management, Sales/ Commercial, Quality, etc. where manufacturing technology expertise is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering, Minimum 4 years manufacturing engineering experience or a 2 year technical degree and significant relevant work experience.
  • Experience in tool and manufacturing process development related to automated assembly and test and functional expertise in processes such as high speed assembly involving operations such as crimping, staking, welding of electrical connections.
  • Experience with product functional testing including electrical testing, force testing, and machine vision implementation.
  • Application of APQP principles related to new production launch.
  • Application knowledge and experience related to continuous improvement methodology for processes such as plastic injection molding, high volume assembly, and functional testing.
  • Ability to travel in support of job functions (plants, customers, suppliers etc.)

 

 

Maintenance Tech – Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing / Automotive

 

Pontiac Coil, Inc. Clarkston, Michigan is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician.  The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years’ overall experience working with electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical machine repairs.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for the daily functioning of assigned areas: both plant and equipment.
  • Efficiently diagnosis, repairs, and document equipment problems.
  • Provide routine update and progress reports to the organization.
  • Selection of proper repair materials and spare parts.
  • Provide suggestions for machine and process improvements.
  • Implementation of new tooling methods.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance assignments and update the company data base with current activities.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in maintenance of automated machines.
  • Allen-Bradley PLC's, Fanuc robots, Cognex Vision Systems, Keyence Vision Systems, and Siemens S7 PLC's experience is a plus.
  • Candidate must be able to work autonomously, have problem solving and troubleshooting skills along with good communication skills.

 

 

Program Manager – Electro-Mechanical device Manufacturing / Automotive

 

Pontiac Coil, Inc. Clarkston, Michigan is currently seeking a Program Manager who will manage multiple projects, meet customer demands, achieve overall project timing, and meet financial targets.  You will be required to lead project teams from development through series production.  You will be the primary point of communication between the customer and the project team.

 

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and lead cross functional teams in the launch of new products, and towards various other objectives.
  • Organize and conduct weekly APQP team meetings.
  • Launch new products following the AIAG disciplines and requirements.
  • Launch new products on time and to budget, while tracking spending and program milestones / deliverables.
  • Actively participate in the design, build and qualification of new assembly and test systems to produce new products.
  • Coordinate ongoing analyses of projects and development activities to identify cost saving opportunities, quality improvements, and process improvements.
  • Provide support to functional areas including Engineering, Sales/ Commercial, Quality, etc. where Program Management expertise is required.
  • Support sales teams in presenting new technologies and products to existing customers and current products to potential new customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, Minimum 4 years Program Management experience or a 2 year technical degree and significant relevant work experience.
  • Experience in automotive industry relative to launch and development of products.
  • Application of APQP principles related to new production launch.
  • Ability to manage projects, including planning and organization, decision making, problem solving, work delegation, and employee development.
  • Application knowledge and experience related to continuous improvement methodology for processes such as plastic injection molding, high volume assembly, and functional testing.
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office (Project, Word, excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Strong presentation skills. Must be able to present to large and small groups including project teams, management and customers.
  • Ability to lead teams, with good decision making and minimal supervision.
  • Ability to travel in support of job functions (plants, customers, suppliers etc.)
